1. Finished Engaging Grammar and finished Grammar Alive. (These are books I requested at the library, so I have to get them read so I can return them.) I really enjoyed Engaging Grammar, but there was one error in it that rankled: a direct object was labeled an indirect object. Now this was obviously a typo; the definition is right, and all the other examples are correct. But this does leave me with some unease.
2. Television and Pogo badges.
3. Level 30 Night Elf Priest. Ashenvale. Dinged 31. Ashenvale. Hillsbrad. Dinged 32.
4. BigFishGame is too big to have a demo. I don't usually do those.

9/12: What I Accomplished Today
1. Prepped a class, graded three classes, performed many miscellaneous office tasks, taught a class. Very, very smug about the day's productivity.
2. A few years ago, the college where I teach instituted a program whereby, if you attend a training session, you could check out a Tablet PC to use for your online classes or other teaching responsibilities. I didn't have a laptop at the time, so I did this and checked out a computer. I have now had this computer over a year, and Distance Education has asked for it back several times so they can do maintenance and stuff on it. I know the program now has a waiting list, and I have had the thing over a year, so with the summer teaching money, I bought two Tablet PC's, one for me and one for Co-Vivant (because when she has low blood sugar or electric legs or other various mild physical disruptions, certain Pogo games are the quickest, most reliable way for her to get her focus back, but there have been several times when she needed the computer for focus while I actually needed it for work, so I decided we needed to have two).
They came today! Hers is in XP, and mine is in Vista. (This is the first PC I, personally, have ever owned; most of my other computers are Macs. I have a PC at work, and I've done tech support on both platforms, but this is the first thing I've seen a PC do enough better than a Mac to warrant buying it. This means, of course, that tomorrow Jobs will demo a much better machine for a quarter of the cost.) Set hers up, then mine, then pulled the files off the school's so we can return it tomorrow.
3. Television. No Pogo badges; I was setting up Tablet PCs.
4. Level 33 Night Elf Hunter. Highperch. Shady Rest. Theramore runaround. Back to Thalsamaar for the Thousand Needles run to the racetrack to pick up quests, then down to pick up the Gadgetzan flight path. As I was running toward Gadgetzan, just running, not doing anything, I dinged 34. (All I can think is that I got the points for finding Gadgetzan and those 200 or so points put me over the edge.) Trained, did auction duty, went to Ratchet and turned in Krazek's parts, poised to fly back to Gadgetzan tomorrow and have a nice, relaxing day finishing the Raceway quests, which I enjoy. Should be enough to level this character.
5. Hijacked back Co-Vivant's 50th birthday party. (I actually did this while I was back on #1, but I just remembered and don't feel like renumbering things.)
6. BigFishGame tonight looks like another searchy thing.

9/11: What I Accomplished Today
1. Graded a class, prepped a class, taught a class.
2. Tried to plan Co-Vivant's 50th birthday. Did a stupid thing, and now it won't be what she wants at all. (Well, the compromise isn't bad, but if I'd been thinking, I wouldn't have had to do it.) Now feel like a worthless piece of crud.
3. Level 33 Night Elf. Finished Farren's sequence. Worked in the Stockade a little; got to Hamhock, which isn't bad soloing. Finished Missing Diplomat, through a series of coincidences I don't entirely understand. First quest reward exceeding a gold. Still feel like a worthless piece of crud.
4. Reading in Engaging Grammar.
5. BigFishGame is a Mah Jong thing. I'm excused.
6. I'll probably play Build-a-Lot or Cake Mania 2 for a bit; I feel like a worthless piece of crud.

9/10: What I Accomplished Today
1. Prepped a class, graded a class, taught a class.
2. Pogo badges.
3. Television. I don't remember whether we watched the end of the season of Big Love last night or tonight. We also saw Letterman on Oprah.
4. Level 32 Night Elf Hunter. Northfold Manor. Southshore. Yeti Cloak, Missing Crystals, Alterac Granite. Flew to Ironforge and finished the Sully Balloo sequence. Back to Southshore. Down the Coast. Dinged 33.
5. Today's BigFishGame is Paradise Pet Salon. This was a fun hour; I don't know yet whether I'll buy it. It was cute and sort of fun, but I've played this before.
6. Read a little more in Engaging Grammar.

9/9: What I Accomplished Today
1. Puzzle Day. We came in last. I have had no Puzzle Mojo all week.
2. Level 30 Night Elf Hunter. Ashenvale. Dinged 31. Ashenvale. Dinged 32. Tried to solo Blackfathom, but we aren't quite there yet.
3. Last episode of the season of Big Love. Bill may have pulled it off; we'll have to see.
4. Finished a Pogo badge, got two more within range of finishing tomorrow. I'm not sure if I'll finish the other two.
5. Finished Reading Faust. Starting Engaging Grammar.

9/8: What I Accomplished Today
1. Spent the morning and afternoon in a training class. I got my CPR/AED/First Aid certification. I've always intended to do that. (I can hear Paula Poundstone in the back of my head deadpanning, "I had a dream; I made it happen.")
2. Level 34 Night Elf Druid. Alterac Mountains. Dinged 35. Stats check, e-mail check.
3. Television. Pogo badges. It's a Personal Challenge Marathon weekend, and I can't tell whether the badges that happen to be up for me this week are particularly difficult or whether I have no mojo this week.
4. Level 30 Night Elf Hunter. When I started moving the characters from 30 to 35, instead of going back to the top of the list, I started from the bottom, so now I'm at the second character from the top, and I haven't really played her for a very long time; when I played her last, for example, I hadn't yet found the Sully Balloo sequence or the Missing Diplomat sequence, so I started those.
5. I figured I'd just play Cake Mania 2 until sleepy time, but I stopped by BigFishGames first. Today's game is Build-a-Lot. I played it for the first hour and realized that I had to have that game; it was good, clean, silly fun. (Be warned, though; when your trial hour is almost over, go to the main menu so the game saves. I didn't know that, so I had to redo my whole first hour. Fortunately, it's a fun game.
So I didn't play Cake Mania 2 today, but I finished the first four towns (14 levels?) of Build-a-Lot.
