7/13: What I Accomplished Today

1. Went to lunch with my parents and the Puzzle Day crew.

2. Had some time before my parents' flight left, so we went to the Liberace Museum. This was actually kind of interesting.

3. Dropped off my parents at the airport.

4. Took a nap.

5. Watched Big Ideas for a Small Planet; the episode was religion.

6. Got Pogo badges to 75-80%.

7. WOW. Worked on Level 29 dwarf rogue. She played in Warsong Gulch and Arathi Basin until her honor was over 100. Did the Arathi Basin quest and fished.

8. BigFishGames haven't been my cuppa; today's is a three-matchy.

Man, I'm tired.

7/12: What I Accomplished Today

My parents have been in town, so I've been too tired to blog.

Tuesday: I don't remember whether I blogged this day or not. We picked up my parents at the airport and went to lunch, meeting my mother-in-law. We dropped them off. I taught a class, and then we went back to the hotel. (Wait; I already blogged this. I remember typing the part about casinos being boring.)

Wednesday: Met parents for breakfast. We went to the Tropicana and saw the Titanic exhibit. Then we went to the Forum shops and watched the talking statues show. My mother and I both had the eerie sense that wasn't the show she had been told to see, but we didn't talk about it. Then we met my mother-in-law at the deli there and ate. We had tickets for the Blue Man Group this evening, so we went to the Venetian to hang out. There, we saw both of the Living Statues; that, I'm sure, is the show people meant to refer her to, not the relatively unimpressive automatons at Caesar's. The Venetian performers were fascinating.

Blue Man Group was really cool. Then we dropped them off at their hotel, came home, and went to sleep.

Today: I graded and prepped in the morning. I went and got my mother, and we went to my office. We were going to go to the Liberace museum, but there wasn't time to cross town again, so we went to Costco instead. Then we went to the campus where I teach and played computer games until it was time for class. She came to my class, and then we met up with everyone else and had dinner at Buco de Beppo's. Tired, but not as absolutely exhausted as I have been the last few nights.

7/10: What I Accomplished Today

1. Picked up parents at airport. Took them to lunch.

2. Grading and prepping was pretty much done. Taught a class.

3. Walked with parents around casinos. Casinos, in and of themselves, are boring.

4. Very tired. Plan to go to sleep as soon as possible.

7/9: What I Accomplished Today

1. Last night, I finished the week's Pogo Badges (including the Super Holiday Weekend badge), so I worked on premium badges today.

2. Graded what the online classes had to have graded so none of them get behind.

3. Read a little in Arthur.

4. Today's BigFishGame is called Discord Times. Similar to Heroes of Might and Magic. The instructions aren't great, but the game's not bad once you figure it out.

Playfirst has released a sequel to Spongebob Squarepants Diner Dash. Now I played the first few levels of the first and uninstalled it; it was slow and clunky compared to the original. I'm curious if anyone has a similar experience with this one.

5. Usually, Sims 2 is pretty good about posting new things on Thursdays, but they haven't for the last two weeks. The last RSS feed item is "Congratulations to SIMposium!" The link just takes you to the site, though, so it's impossible to know why we're congratulating them. I didn't much care for their site (Flash intros are an instant turn-off for me, and then beyond that, there was nothing apparent that would be fun or useful for me), and although it looks like some mucketies from their site got to go to Sims 2 design center, I'm none the wiser about why. I think this is funny; I'm supposed to congratulate them, but no one will tell me why.

6. Do not remember what we watched on television.

I still want to talk about the Richard Pryor concert we watched again a few nights ago, but my parents get into town tomorrow, and I should try to go to sleep so I don't snap at them. It's a silly hour to go to sleep.

7. Didn't get to play any Miss Management because I have to go to sleep now at this dang foolish hour.

8. Level 27 dwarf rogue. Finished the 2nd and 3rd part of Ormer's Revenge, dinging 28 in the process. Blisters on the Land, Cursed Crew, Lifting the Curse, Eyes of Paleth, Cleansing the Eye, first few rounds of the Missing Diplomat. Worgens. Dinged 29. Worgens. War Banners. Started Lightforge Ingots, but this one is crud against murlocs. Went to the Deadmines and soloed Oh Brother and Collecting Memories; I don't think I've been able to do that before, so that was cool.

7/8: What I Accomplished Today

1. Okay, so here's how Puzzle Day went. We tied with the Fellas on the main puzzle. Then we tied on the Kids' Puzzle. The third puzzle was a French-themed puzzle because of the Tour de France, but our puzzle printer didn't remember that he'd given us that puzzle last week, so he didn't print the answers; instead, he included it in the pile for next week's puzzles. The fourth puzzle was Puns and Anagrams; we hadn't finished this puzzle. So we had three perfectly finished puzzles, and we still came in second. Nothin' you can do about that (and we have the Tour de France puzzle done for next week already).

We also brought sammich stuff for Puzzle Day today.

2. Took a nap.

3. Played a little Miss Management. I have all three stars on the first 25 episodes, but I'm having a tough time on episode 26.

4. BigFishGame for today was Risk. I downloaded it and played it a little, but I probably won't keep it. (I've played a lot of Risk, both in person and in quite a few computer manifestations. I like Risk, but I just don't think I need to spend a BigFishGame credit on yet another Risk version.)

5. Started with a Level 25 Dwarf Rogue. Finished Look to the Stars and the first level of Night Watch; I think I dinged 26 around in here. Then I did Old History Book, Sven's Revenge, Look to the Stars, all three Shadowy Figures, Night Watch II, a couple of Stalvans, and Proving Your Worth. (Doing the Stalvans, I found a Report to Gryan Stoutmantle I hadn't done yet, so I did that as well.) I believe I dinged 27 around in here. Finished Totem of Affliction, Stalvan except the last one, the last Night Watch quest, Seeking Wisdom, Southshore, and the Doomed Fleet; I also worked on my first aid and went to Stromgarde to buy the books. Could have gotten her to 28 today, but it seemed like it was time to go to sleep.

7/7: What I Accomplished Today

1. Worked on Pogo badges.

2. Have little recollection of what we watched on television except one thing. I was going to talk about an old Richard Pryor concert movie that was on tonight, but I've just noticed it's after four, so I don't guess I'll do that.

3. Draenei Shaman dinged 30. Got her statistics and did a mail check on everyone. Began Level 25 Dwarf Rogue.

4. I don't think I read any in Arthur today; what would normally have been Arthur Reading Time was Laundry Time.

5. I was going to play Miss Management, but again, I've just noticed it's after four, so I made no progress in that today.

6. We cook tomorrow for Puzzle Day. The Fellas may mock us, but it's gonna be sandwiches, chips, and maybe carrots. It's too friggin' hot to cook.

We've also thoroughly audited the main puzzle, so I'm hopeful we'll break our 2nd-place streak.
